Hello Mountaineers,
I hope that all is going well as you’re preparing for your exams. I can’t believe that the semester is nearly over, but I sure am excited about Christmas break! SGA has been very hard at work this semester, and I’d like to take a minute to update you with a bit of what we’ve been able to do.
At out last Senate meeting for this term, we approved our revised Constitution. I was particularly glad because I’ve been the chair of the Constitutional Revision Committee. Six of us worked beyond our normal commitments to bring our current constitution up to date (nothing had been amended since 1996). While you may not think that this directly impacts you, it does in the best of ways. It was wonderful to be able to serve on this committee because I knew that what we were doing was refining SGA’s core document so that the government can best serve you. With changes such as outlining Senatorial Elections Procedure, Rules for Impeachment of an Officer, and extensive grammar review; we sought to cover it all.
It’s passed Senate, now here’s what needs to happen: we need you to approve this document as well. This spring we’re going to have a referendum so that you can vote on these revisions. It’s a bit early for any more specifics, but I just wanted to let you know as a heads up. I’ll really appreciate your vote when it does occur.
It really has been an honour to serve this semester. I love this university, and I’m glad to be able to do anything to help. My email is trogdonrl@appstate.edu, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I’d love to hear your questions and concerns. Good luck on your exams and have a wonderful holiday!
Kind Regards,
Ronnie Trogdon
